After 2 months of successfully using Unit 02, the nerd scientists of CGLAR started work on creating CGL Unit 03. In this version they wanted to address the weight issues of Unit 02 and the bland styling Unit 02 and Unit 01 had. To fix the weight issues the nerd scientists decided to use a titanium alloy instead of steal for Unit 03. This is due to titanium alloy being a material that is lightweight but still very strong and durable. Once Unit 03 was built the nerd scientists decided to give it a white, blue, and dark grey paint scheme to make it flashier. The inspiration for this stemmed from the giant robots seen in Japanese animation. Due to it’s sleekness and the many refinements made it, CGL Unit 03 is currently the flagship model of the CGLAR giant robot line. Like Unit 02, only one Unit 03 exists.
Despite, it being the flagship model CGL Unit 03 is not the first Unit called into battle. This honor still is given to Unit 01. While for the most part, Unit 02 been retired from active use. In battle, Unit 03 has had a very impressive success rate and has destroyed all of the kaiju it has faced. One recorded incident was Unit 03’s obliteration of the kaiju Cyclor, who was blown to pieces after being hit with Unit 03’s energy ball. Unit 03’s high success rate and overall performance advantages over the other models has made the nerds consider it for use as the default model. Yet CGLAR doesn’t plan to put this into effect until the Unit 01 model proves to be completely useless in defending against the kaiju.
