More news from Square Enix, the classic games Final Fantasy I and II are coming to the iPhone. No official release date has been given by Square Enix, but they did release a trailer for it. And from the trailer, you can clearly see that the games have had some visual updates made to them.
So Japanese software publishing giant Square Enix has announced that a special edition Xbox 360 bundled with Final Fantasy XIII will be released. This special bundle will include a standard edition of Final Fantasy XIII, a white 250 GB Xbox 360 unit with special engraving, two controllers, and free avatar items. At the time no pricing has been announced, but preorders for the bundle will start March 9, 2010. Square Enix also announced that “select retailers” will carry Xbox 360 faceplates designed by famed artist Testuya Nomura. Personally I wonder why there a PS3 bundle has not been announced. There is one available to the Japanese market and Sony and Square Enix have had a long standing relationship with each other. Oh well, sometimes the Japanese get better stuff when it comes to games.

Note: Final Fantasy VII is the only Final Fantasy that I have beaten, and I have only played VII, VIII, IX, and X.

So as many of you probably know, Apple unveiled its long speculated and rumored tablet, the iPad. As far as design goes, the iPad sports a 9.7″ led backlit screen. Which promises to deliver crisp and vivid display experience. The iPad is also “allegedly” thin and light. the device is 0.5 inches thick and weighs 1.5 pounds. Also the iPad runs a custom 1GHz Apple “A4″ chip and the device is also said to have a battery life of 10 hours. Other than that the iPad runs on the iPhone OS and can handle all of the same apps as Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch. Basically from what I gathered, the device will allow you to do things like browse the web, check mail, view photos and videos, and listen to music. The device also functions as a viable eReader with the ability to read eBooks and the like, making it a possible competitor to the Kindle. The iPad also allows you to play games on the device as well. Pretty much if there’s an app for it, you can do it on the iPad.
In case you’re still trying to find the perfect gift for that special someone, here are some things I think are worth gifting this holiday season.
Playstation 3 Slim
You have a gaming console and a blu-ray player all in one nifty package. Then consider the fact that this has wifi and you stream netflix movies and surf the net, and you have a very worthy media machine at your hands for $299. Also there are no red rings to be had here folks.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
What you have here is a solid old school style Mario game with some new bells and whistles that any Mario and Nintendo fans will love.
Money
Don’t quite know what to get someone on your Christmas list? Then go with money. Sure it’s a really lazy idea, but who’s going to say no to money?
Weezer Raditude Album
For those on your list that like rock/alternative music you can’t go wrong with this Weezer album. It’s just good old rock and roll fun.
High Definition Television
While I don’t have a specific television to recommend, HDTV’s are definitely a hot item to get someone or yourself this holiday season.
